Remembering Judith Leighton

Remembering Judith Leighton .. I met Judith Leighton last year at her gallery in Blue Hills Maine, she was a brilliant artist and gallery owner .. sadly she has died and I wanted to write this entry in rememberance of a lady I knew for a very short time but who inspired me with her work and work ethic .. as my son Aidan said about the Leighton Gallery .. ' I like everything in here Mommy' .. and he has a keen eye for art too .. I am very happy that I did meet Judith and then go on to have a correspondence with her about my work, she was very real and approachable and supportive to me. I think that her gallery is a great example of how a gallery should be http://www.leightongallery.com/ artwork is well presented, well spaced, well lit, works that the gallery loves to represent .. authentic and good.

I only knew Judith a short while and really warmed to her .. wonder how the other artists are feeling now .. I know I feel honored to have met her and worked with her for a short time.
