Inspired by Australian Aboriginal Art

I have been travelling in Australia, visiting friends in Sydney our old home town and now in Perth over in Western Australia with my parents. During our visit down under we have been to several art galleries and art museums and have seen a variety of Australian Aboriginal Art, most recently we saw a great exhibition at the WA Gallery

took time in a great gallery in Fremantle

and bought some wonderful books on Aboriginal artwork. I am excited about learning more about these people their artwork and culture. I also discovered a documentary series which was filmed last year by Hetti Perkins on ABC TV called Art and Soul which follows the way of Australian Aboriginal artists .. their history the traditions of painting etc which I was able to watch here on my Dad's PC I wasn't able to get it to work on my MAC but the link for the PC is http://www.abc.net.au/arts/artandsoul/about/default.htm

I would love to work out in the landscape with some of these artists someday and have been soaking up the spirit of their work which I believe to be pure and alive and has a sense of people and place.
